About the position

The Custodian position is a part-time role aimed at providing a safe, secure, clean, and attractive environment for students to learn, play, and develop. The custodian will work under the general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, PM Custodial Supervisor, and/or Head Custodian, performing a variety of custodial duties to maintain the cleanliness and order of the building. This includes tasks necessary to ensure the sanitary and secure condition of the premises.

Responsibilities

• Wears clean and appropriate uniform.
• Sweeps, mops, waxes, dusts, and vacuums.
• Cleans windows, walls, lockers, floors, chalkboards, and furnishings.
• Performs outside services including snow removal, flower bed maintenance, general lawn work, and debris removal from grounds.
• Rearranges/moves furnishings and delivers educational supplies.

Requirements

• Successful completion of criminal history background check.
• Proof of US citizenship.
• Specific knowledge of housekeeping and custodial equipment, materials, and methods.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of the position.
• Ability to hear conversational voice, with or without hearing aid.
• Good vision, with or without glasses.
• Able to follow written or oral directions.
• Willingness to respond to emergency and alarm calls after normal working hours.
