About The Position

The Toro Company in Tomah, Wisconsin is seeking a Custodian II for the 2nd shift. This role is responsible for the interior and exterior maintenance of the building, including cleaning, minor repairs, and groundskeeping. The Custodian II will ensure the facility is well-maintained and safe, performing a variety of tasks to support the operational needs of the company. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of relevant maintenance experience, and proficiency in various tools and equipment.

Requirements

Responsible for interior and exterior of building including but not limited to sweeping and mopping, emptying waste containers, wash window, maintain restrooms, lights, pipes, water fountains, cafeteria.
Must be observant to detect any unusual conditions or cleaning necessary in the plant.
Minor repairs and preventative maintenance of building painting, minor drywall, light electrical (test outlets and replace fixtures) and plumbing.
Operate equipment such as floor sweeper, compactor, forklift
Use of power tools: drills, meters, saws
Salt application and snow removal by use of shovel, snow blower, bobcat.
Lawn care including mow, trim, and seed as needed
Sprinkler System Maintenance: Replace and repair sprinkler heads and lines, annual blowout
Backfills Custodian I
Other duties as assigned
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of relevant maintenance experience.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical manuals.
Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills.
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Strong interpersonal skills in working with a variety of cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards
Must be certified to operate a forklift or have the ability to obtain certification.

Nice To Haves

Technical certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Sweeping and mopping interior and exterior building areas.
Emptying waste containers.
Washing windows.
Maintaining restrooms, lights, pipes, and water fountains.
Cleaning the cafeteria.
Observing and detecting any unusual conditions or cleaning needs in the plant.
Performing minor repairs including painting and minor drywall work.
Conducting light electrical work such as testing outlets and replacing fixtures.
Performing minor plumbing tasks.
Operating equipment such as floor sweepers, compactors, and forklifts.
Using power tools including drills, meters, and saws.
Performing salt application and snow removal using shovels, snow blowers, and Bobcats.
Conducting lawn care, including mowing, trimming, and seeding as needed.
Performing sprinkler system maintenance, including replacing and repairing sprinkler heads and lines, and annual blowouts.
Backfilling for Custodian I roles.
Performing other duties as assigned.
