About the position

The Custodial Supervisor at PRIDE Industries is responsible for overseeing custodial services and personnel, ensuring that facilities are clean and safe. This role involves coordinating staff, maintaining customer relationships, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as experience in custodial services and working with individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, directs, and schedules custodial staff and subcontract personnel in performing custodial services.
  • Maintains professional relationships with site customers, suppliers, vendors, and employees.
  • Supervises employees; ensures a competent, motivated team through hiring, training, development, counseling, and reviewing performance.
  • Conducts facility walks, quality control inspections, safety audits, and provides feedback to personnel and customers as appropriate.
  • Schedules and prioritizes tasks, ensuring adherence to procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in custodial services and/or building maintenance, including one year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cal OSHA, OSHA occupational safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees and provide for their professional development.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills using appropriate business English.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, common sense, and problem-solving skills.
  • Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team and customers.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Intermediate computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
  • Fundamental mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
