About The Position

Perform diagnostic, surgical, and portable imaging procedures while providing safe, compassionate care and ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. This role prepares and educates patients, operates imaging equipment, administers contrast when needed, supports patient safety throughout procedures, and serves as a resource for students and team members.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program
  • ARRT Radiography registration required
  • ARRT Computed Tomography registration required (or must be obtained within two years of hire)
  • IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois
  • WI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in Wisconsin
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Inventory software; Manufacturing software and Order processing systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Radiographer experience preferred
  • CT experience preferred
  • Must be able to take call as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic CT procedures.
  • If assigned radiographer job duties, also performs radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical and portable radiographic exams.
  • Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologist.
  • Prepares the patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
  • Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort; immobilizes patient as necessary.
  • Practices aseptic technique as necessary.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media as appropriate to procedures performed; starts and maintains intravenous access.
  • Initiates basic life support action when necessary.
  • Provides patient education.
  • Provides input for supply and equipment decisions, maintains control of inventory and supplies for assigned area.
  • Provides practical instruction for students and partners.
  • Observes universal protocol, standard precautions and appropriate patient identifiers.
  • Applies principles of patient safety during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.
