About the position
The CT Scan Technologist position at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital involves performing Computed Tomography (CT) and CT guided interventional procedures under the direction of a qualified physician. The role is essential in providing high-level advanced imaging capabilities in a Level I Trauma Center, contributing to patient care and education while ensuring the safe operation of imaging equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform Computed Tomography (CT) and CT guided interventional procedures under the direction of a qualified physician.
- Provide patient and family education regarding procedures and safety.
- Operate imaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Complete necessary department documentation accurately.
- Maintain all imaging equipment to ensure cleanliness and operational status.
- Manage and maintain adequate supply inventory for performing examinations.
Requirements
- Trade School Graduate in Radiologic Technology.
- ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) - Other/National certification required.
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) required.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Advanced CT registry in ARRT or CNMT to be obtained within two years of hire.
