About the position

The Banking Customer Service Representative at Fifth Third Bank is responsible for providing exceptional customer service during daily transactions, addressing customer inquiries, and resolving problems in line with bank policies. This role involves building rapport with customers, promoting products and services, and achieving sales referral goals while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Handle cash and process customer transactions.
• Initiate conversations with customers to uncover their needs and refer them to appropriate business partners.
• Maintain a balancing record, find and correct errors, and seek assistance when needed.
• Handle customer issues professionally and direct complex issues to management.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial center policies, procedures, products, and services.
• Perform daily office responsibilities alongside other staff members to ensure efficient operation of the financial center.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience in Banking, Retail, Sales, or a role involving cash handling and customer service.
• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Strong working knowledge of banking retail policies and procedures.
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for most of the shift.
