About the position

This nursing position is designed for registered nurses with over 12 months of experience, focusing on providing and coordinating independent care to patients within a clinical specialty. Responsibilities

  • Provides independent care to unit specific patient population.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for others and integrates evidence into practice.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to plan and coordinate patient care.
  • Assists in team development and evaluation of the Relationship-Based Care model.
  • Participates in data collection related to Relationship-Based Care outcomes.
  • Contributes to Performance Improvement and Evidence Based Practice at the unit level.
  • Supports charge nurse decisions and performs charge role as needed.
  • Serves as a preceptor, coach, and mentor to new nurses and students.
  • Ensures patient safety and participates in patient safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland or a Nurse Compact License (NSL).
  • BSN preferred.
  • Two years of recent critical care nursing experience.
  • Solid knowledge and clinical skills in nursing practice.
  • Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in various intensive care settings (ICU, NICU, PICU, ED, etc.).
  • Certification in additional life support programs (PALS, NRP).
