About The Position

City of Edinburg in Edinburg, TX is actively seeking a dedicated Crew Leader to oversee the completion of departmental projects and programs. This Crew Leader position earns competitive pay of $15.05/hr. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience in light, medium and heavy equipment/vehicle operating, or comparable experience.
  • Water/Wastewater Operator Class 'A' TCEQ Class "C" Water Distribution License (Water Crew) OR Wastewater Operator Class B or Wastewater Collection Class III License (Wastewater Crew)
  • Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record with tank endorsement.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Dependability.

Nice To Haves

  • Community college, vocational, business, technical, or correspondence schools are likely sources.
  • Five (5) years' experience in light, medium and heavy equipment/vehicle operating, or comparable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing a small service crew conducting repairs, inspection and installing system components.
  • Ensuring that the city's wastewater collection system is properly operated and maintained at all times.
  • Operating light equipment and a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintaining the designated streets, utility systems, and landfills.
  • Providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed.
