Requirements

  • Locate boxes at back of creel.
  • Remove caps from tubes.
  • Save empty tubes and place in tube box at back of creel.
  • Do not overfill.
  • Nest cones together and place in boxes (TWIST TO REMOVE).
  • Separate plastic and cardboard into different boxes.
  • When cutting our yarn to be stripped off creel, pull 2 to 3 feet away from yarn package so yarn end does not go up the tube.
  • Locate boxes in creel.
  • Strip all available yarn (RAA) and place into box.
  • Fill boxes with yarn.
  • Push the boxes of yarn to the back of the creel for removal.
  • When cutting out yarn to be stripped off, pull 2 to 3 feet away from yarn package so yarn end does not go up the tube.
  • Locate boxes in creel and fill with yarn.
  • Push the boxes of yarn to the back of the creel for removal.
  • Check lot number stickers on outside of case before opening.
  • Compare chalk marks on lot being hung to that which is currently running.
  • Check the yarn lot number on each package before hanging to ensure it is the correct lot.
  • Hang yarn in a bottom to top sequence and stagger load the yarn when placing on the creel rack.
  • Position tails to hang freely downward.
  • Push yarn package to rear of cone holder.
  • Use good footing to avoid slipping.
  • All conventional creels will use a procedure whereby every cone that is hung on the creel will be tied in as it is hung.
  • Hang yarn in a bottom to top configuration; that is, hang the bottom cone and tie in first, then move to the second from the bottom and repeat. Continue in the same manner doing the top position last.
  • Follow this procedure at all times, under all circumstances. No modifications of the procedure should be made.
  • Place larger yarn packages on creel and cut them back.
  • Use smaller yarn packages to balance creel.
  • Pull cut back yarn off the creel place in boxes.
  • Proper procedure for splicing knots will be individually instructed.
  • Airsplice yarn packages with the airsplice gun.
  • Be cautious to avoid mixed yarn.
  • Mixed yarn on a creel occurs when: A yarn Package is “capped” in a yarn mill, a yarn package of a different lot is hung with the lot that is running, or the creel was not stripped completely before a new lot was hung.
  • The paper on the back of the warper displays the yarn lot number that is currently being run on that creel.
  • As creel starts to run out randomly, place yarn next to smaller yarn packages, Splice in to keep machine running continuously.
  • When one yarn lot is run down on a creel, load the next yarn lot and splice into the first.
  • Check for proper yarn lot and notify Beam Lead if any other lot is found.
  • Never hang two lots on creel at same time.
  • Two lots are only allowed to run on a machine at the same time only under merge conditions.
  • Never go by chalk marks to determine yarn lots.
  • Sweep and clean creels before leaving.
