About the position

The Credit and Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing credit and collection activities for the US and Canada, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. This role involves managing a team of 14 specialists, ensuring effective cash collections, dispute management, and compliance with internal controls. The position requires collaboration with various business partners and aims to optimize cash flow while minimizing risk through the development and implementation of credit policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage cash collections and oversee the collections process for overdue accounts.
• Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to minimize risk and optimize cash flow.
• Analyze customer creditworthiness and make decisions regarding credit limits.
• Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable aging, collection forecasts, and bad debt.
• Collaborate with sales, service, and finance teams to resolve customer disputes and improve collection efforts.
• Maintain relationships with key customers to encourage timely payments and address issues.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to credit and collections.
• Analyze trends in collections and suggest improvements to processes and policies.
• Lead and motivate a team of credit and collections specialists to meet overall team goals.
• Identify and implement business process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing credit and collections.
• Experience with ERP systems and collection software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience managing a team.
