About the position

The position involves performing credit analysis on commercial credits, which includes receiving data on prospective and active borrowing accounts such as financial statements, agency reports, and interview and investigation sheets. The role requires contacting customers or their accountants regarding questions about financial statements and analyzing data to evaluate the short- and long-run prospects of individuals or companies. This includes creating comparison spreads and ratios, preparing reports, presenting questions or problems to loan officers, preparing cash flows and debt service coverage, and requesting additional information as needed. The position also entails providing a credit risk rating after conducting a cash flow and collateral analysis or a full credit analysis and documentation review, ensuring thorough documentation of all financial analysis work, and conducting all credit analysis activities in accordance with prescribed lending policies. Additionally, the role involves tracking application status, approval, and loan policy, obtaining bids and orders for commercial appraisals, reviewing appraisals for accuracy and compliance, and resolving discrepancies with appraisers. The position requires cooperation with other personnel and adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements, as well as reporting pertinent information to supervisors and maintaining appropriate records.

Responsibilities

  • Performs credit analysis on commercial credits.

  • Resolves discrepancies or problems concerning appraisal reports.
  • Brings significant problems to the attention of loan officers and recommends remedial actions.
  • Abides by laws and organizational policies promoting a harassment-free workplace.
  • Coordinates work tasks with other personnel and departments.
  • Supports adherence to internal policies and regulatory compliance.
  • Reports pertinent information to supervisors as requested.
  • Responds to inquiries from customers and other Bank personnel.
  • Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
  • Participates on Bank Committees as assigned.
  • Performs supportive tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal communication and business/technical writing skills.
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • High degree of initiative.
  • Well organized and able to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.
  • Adequate knowledge of legal and regulatory aspects of lending and sound credit principles preferred.
