The position involves performing and demonstrating proficiency in obtaining blood specimens through venipuncture and capillary draws for patients of all age groups. The role includes labeling and processing specimens, maintaining and managing laboratory supplies, and demonstrating knowledge and skill in operating 12-lead and 15-lead ECG machines. The candidate must be able to perform ECGs on a diverse patient population, from neonatal babies to geriatric patients. Additionally, the candidate must complete the ECG class offered by the Cardiology department, which covers proper technique, storage, and transmission of ECGs. Adherence to policies and procedures as directed by supervisors and management is essential. The role also involves assisting in training and orienting new employees and interacting with internal and external customers in a professional manner. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required to perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment and computer software skills is necessary, including proficiency in MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and email. The candidate will perform other duties as assigned and must follow Palomar Health's rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards.
