About the position

The Courtesy Clerk position is designed to assist clerks and customers in a retail environment, focusing on bagging purchased items, maintaining store cleanliness, and providing customer support. This role is essential for ensuring a positive shopping experience and operational efficiency within the store.

Responsibilities

• Bag the customers purchases
• Assist customers to their vehicles with their purchases
• Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lots and surrounding areas
• Maintain cleanliness of the checkstand area
• Maintain cleaning and bagging supplies in the checkstand area
• Return non-purchased items to their proper shelf location
• Assist customers with their questions
• Secure price verification for clerks
• Maintain routine sweeping of the sales floor
• Break down and collect cardboard boxes
• Handle clean-ups as required throughout the store
• Other related duties as required

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• A valid work permit if under the age of 18
• Ability to read aisle markers, shelf tags and prices, and labels
• Must possess efficient hand-eye coordination and be able to perform basic math calculations
• Must maintain a sense of integrity

Benefits

• Hourly Pay Range: $16.10 - $16.30
• Covered under the UFCW union agreement
