About the position
The Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger role at Mariano's focuses on creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. This role is essential in supporting the grocery shopping experience by assisting customers with their purchases and ensuring a pleasant shopping atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Bag groceries at checkout for customers, striving for at least five items per bag while ensuring items are not damaged.
- Assist in removing customer's merchandise from the bottom of the bascart for checkout.
- Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
- Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
- Return merchandise to store shelves and gather bascarts to return them to designated areas.
- Clean spills, collect trash inside the store and parking lot, and clean all areas inside and outside of the store.
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise and understand the store's layout to locate products and conduct price checks for cashiers.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to notify store management.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
