About The Position

The Counter Attendant/Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment. Primary duties include taking orders, preparing ice cream products, maintaining a clean workspace, and accurately processing financial transactions. This role acts as the face of Mr. B’s, ensuring every guest has a positive and professional experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 6 months in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment (retail, food service, or hospitality).
  • Demonstrated experience operating a Point of Sale (POS) system and accurately managing a cash drawer.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effectively present information to management, customers, and staff.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating tips

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly, explain menu offerings, and provide recommendations based on preferences.
  • Prepare and serve ice cream, sundaes, shakes, and other menu items in accordance with established portion sizes and quality standards.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system; process cash, credit, and mobile payments accurately; and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
  • Maintain a clean and organized counter, dining area, and prep station.
  • Follow all food safety and health department regulations regarding storage and handling.
  • Monitor inventory levels and restock toppings, cones, and supplies as needed to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
  • Process orders and payments via POS without error.
  • Prepare all ice cream products to shop specifications.
  • Maintain "Open-to-Close" sanitation standards for food prep and guest areas.
  • Open/Close register and reconcile daily sales.
  • Maintain temperature logs for cooling units.
  • Execute "First-In, First-Out" (FIFO) rotation for dairy and toppings.
  • Engage guests to ensure high satisfaction ratings.
