About The Position

To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Design and deliver data-driven school counseling services aligned with the district mission and ASCA standards to support scholar success; implement the building College and Career, academics, social-emotional and counseling plan according to district program objectives and priorities; teach and coordinate the delivery of the curriculum; coordinate registration and orientation for scholars when needed; advocate for the individual scholar; participate in planning and teaching of career education; counsel scholars individually and in small groups about personal concerns; maintain contact and communication with guardians/caregivers of scholars; refer scholars and guardians/caregivers to appropriate specialists, special programs and/or community agencies; consult with teachers, staff, and guardians/caregivers regarding needs of individual scholars; participate in, coordinate, and/or conduct activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school; make appropriate and equitable use of instructional resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the district and the school and/or program for which employed; provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning and services when applicable. Willing to participate in district/building leadership activities. Ability to be flexible with work hours to meet the needs of guardians/caregivers, the district, building, and department at the discretion of the supervisor. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MN teaching license in School Counseling
  • If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 2 license
  • Additional information can be found at MN Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB)
