About the position

The Cost Analyst Senior position at MITRE involves supporting multiple projects to address critical economic challenges faced by customers. Responsibilities

  • Develop models and perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to understand the economic impact of investments and government actions.
  • Engage with customers to advise and recommend economic metrics, tools, and policies for sustainable solutions.
  • Develop strategic external partnerships to enhance applied research and outcomes.
  • Conduct economic modeling of integration and deployment challenges associated with technology or financing innovations.
  • Collect and analyze financial, political, and socioeconomic data.
  • Conduct surveys and utilize various sampling techniques.
  • Research various fields including politics, healthcare, education, and energy.
  • Analyze market trends using historical data.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research, Data Analytics, or Quantitative Sciences.
  • Technical expertise in one or more economic sub-specialties (Financial, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Behavioral Economics, etc).
  • Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to think critically and proactively pursue research and problem-solving with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in applying economic research in a business setting.
  • Recent publications in relevant fields.
