About the position
Kforce's client, a well-established global manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join their team in Lansing, MI. This hybrid position allows for three days in the office and two days working from home, with occasional travel for physical inventory. The role focuses on analyzing manufacturing costs, preparing cost reports, and providing insights to enhance profitability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing manufacturing costs and preparing cost reports to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs for management.
- Determining costs of business activities such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
- Coordinating and participating in quarter-end and year-end physical inventory audits.
- Developing and reviewing manufacturing budgets used to establish labor and overhead rates.
- Setting up new inventory items in the ERP system.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in large ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
