The Cost Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Controller. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven track record of successfully organizing and analyzing data. We are team focused. Responsibilities

• Track and manage project costs, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
• Perform POC calculations and maintain WIP schedules.
• Work closely with project managers to develop accurate cost estimates and financial plans.
• Work with Billings, Accounts Payable, and Payroll teams to ensure that all job-related costs are included timely and into the correct accounts and jobs.
• Prepare and analyze detailed cost reports, including cost analysis, profit margins, and cost-to-complete projections.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
• Review contracts and change orders to ensure accurate cost tracking and compliance with contractual terms.
• Monitor cost implications of changes and updates.
• Analyze cost variances and investigate discrepancies.
• Report findings to management and recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers to evaluate project performance and profitability.
• Provide financial support for project decisions and adjustments.

Requirements

• Degree in accounting, business, or related discipline.
• Knowledge of construction accounting required.
• 5-7 years' of related experience required with 2-3 years in construction and/or manufacturing accounting a plus.
• Strong mathematical, analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with project managers and senior management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with NetSuite and Field Point or another major construction ERP is a plus.
