The Cosmetologist/Hair Stylist at SmartStyle plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional salon services while ensuring guest satisfaction. This position emphasizes the importance of following brand standards, providing thorough consultations, and building strong relationships with clients to foster a positive salon environment. The stylist is expected to maintain professionalism, manage salon operations effectively, and contribute to the overall success of the salon.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality services including exceptional client consultations and price quotes.
- Educate and recommend products for guests to maintain their hairstyles between visits.
- Build relationships to contribute to a teamwork-oriented environment.
- Make positive contributions to the salon culture and work environment.
- Correctly charge for services and products, including proper discounting.
- Meet or exceed minimum productivity standards set by the Salon Leader.
- Utilize business building tools to increase sales and guest retention.
- Promote the salon's business and create new clients.
- Demonstrate good time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Perform salon duties such as payment processing, answering phones, and cleaning.
- Control salon operating costs related to inventories.
- Attend work consistently and follow company policies regarding time off requests.
- Maintain a valid Cosmetology, Natural Hair, or Barber's License.
- Attend and complete required technical training sessions.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Adhere to corporate policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate opening/closing procedures and daily bank deposits.
Requirements
- Valid Cosmetology, Natural Hair, or Barber's License in the state of Ohio.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Computer knowledge including point-of-sale systems.
- Professional appearance and presence.
- Ability to travel to work and arrive on time for scheduled hours.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends.
