About the position

The Principal Solutions Architect is a key member of the Information Technology team at Glacier Solutions Development (GSD). This role is responsible for the technical design and implementation of strategic projects aimed at enhancing the bank's online and in-branch deposit account and loan origination services platform. The architect will leverage their expertise in banking systems to lead solution delivery for the Temenos platform, ensuring alignment with business requirements and organizational strategy. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions, driving continuous improvement and integration across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and implementation of strategic projects for the bank's deposit account and loan origination services platform.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements for the development team.
  • Drive continuous improvement and technical integration across internal and external teams.
  • Maximize the value delivered by the technical team and ensure alignment of the backlog with business needs.
  • Collaborate with Product and Channel Managers, support teams, and technology colleagues to elicit and capture business requirements.
  • Establish technical expertise and teach the business domain and design of the code base to other staff.
  • Provide detailed level of effort estimates for proposed solutions and articulate benefits and risks.
  • Lead a development team in maintaining a healthy product backlog and participating in agile ceremonies.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex problems and provide advanced troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in bank or financial software development and/or system administration.
  • 3 years of experience developing and executing on product roadmaps and managing risks and dependencies.
  • Extensive experience in business requirement gathering, prioritization, and implementation.
  • Experience working with IT and Development teams to deliver solutions in a complex environment.
  • Strong understanding of technology to collaborate with internal and external partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Temenos or related cloud-based banking software.
  • Knowledge of ITIL service delivery and management frameworks.
  • Experience leading teams with external resources such as vendors and consultants.
