About The Position

The Corporate Estimator is responsible for developing detailed and accurate cost estimates for aerospace components and assemblies. This role requires analyzing technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications to assess material, labor, tooling, and overhead costs. The Corporate Estimator works closely with engineering, production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure all estimates meet strict aerospace standards and client requirements. Responsibilities include identifying cost drivers and risks, while supporting engineering and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years estimating experience in the aerospace industry
  • Associates Degree or equivalent required or relevant experience (Engineering and applicable certifications preferred)
  • Proficient in Catia
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as drawings, blueprints, production schedules, contractual agreements, Requests for Quotation or Requests for Proposal, as well as various customer documents relating to the same
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence, both internal and external
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals or groups of customers or employees
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous machining experience with 5 axis machines a plus

Responsibilities

  • Analyze drawings, 3D models, specifications and technical documents for producibility and prepare accurate cost estimates for aerospace components and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure estimates align with manufacturing processes and aerospace standards.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes for materials, tooling, and services.
  • Identify cost drivers, potential risks, and opportunities for cost reduction or process improvements.
  • Support bid proposals and contract negotiations by providing detailed estimate documentation and justifications.
  • Track and update cost data, market trends, and historical project information to enhance estimating accuracy.
  • Participate in design reviews, change management processes, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Assist in post-project analysis to compare estimated vs. actual costs, driving continuous improvement in estimating processes.
