About the position

The position requires a minimum of two years of guest service experience, preferably in a similar environment. The candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent credentials and demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of tennis is strongly preferred, along with proficiency in Windows XP and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. The role involves interacting with guests and members, requiring a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with a variety of people. The candidate must be detail-oriented, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and flexible with working hours, including days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Adherence to the company's dress code policy is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members
  • Record and bill orders accurately into the register system and process payments using guest/member cards in accordance with accounting procedures
  • Accurately book and maintain Open Course and Micros Tennis interactions
  • Assist guests with tennis game matching
  • Consistently achieve monthly retail sales goals through customer service and product knowledge
  • Promote enthusiastically special events, programming and events to guests and members
  • Grow and promote member participation in special events, league play, tournament play as well as hotel programming
  • Promote racquet stringing program by working with retail team to ensure proper equipment and products are in-stock, in working order and promoted to members and guests
  • Ensure all new-hires are trained with basic knowledge of tennis product knowledge
  • Answer any questions guests may have about Sea Island or the area
  • Maintain the availability of merchandise in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Assist with merchandising and display arrangements
  • Be proficient with all aspects of Resort Suite including the reservations process of lessons, clinics and court times
  • Assist with the receipt of goods and ticketing according to procedure
  • Assist with special orders of all retail apparel
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area
  • Complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues and follow-up on issues as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
  • Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years guest service experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent credentials
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Tennis strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must pass skill testing
  • Must have ability to courteously present information to people in one-on-one and group situations
