About the position

The Coordinator Production I is responsible for overseeing safety, environmental compliance, quality control, and the optimization of production processes within the plant. This role involves training and supervising personnel, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and coordinating daily operations as directed by the Operations Manager. The position requires a focus on maintaining high standards of safety and quality while optimizing production efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety conditions and behaviors during day-to-day operations and outages to protect personnel and products.
  • Adhere to all CEMEX, MSHA, O.S.H.A., and other safety rules and regulations at all times.
  • Ensure personnel have the necessary skills to perform safely and productively.
  • Participate in safety committees, risk assessments, and training programs.
  • Monitor plant operations to assist in ensuring safe job performance.
  • Ensure environmental compliance according to state and federal regulations.
  • Work towards ensuring product quality at optimal costs.
  • Train employees on operating procedures and equipment functionality.
  • Report and correct unsafe practices to management promptly.
  • Ensure plant operations and quality control meet or exceed production requirements.
  • Determine when process parameters need to be altered for efficiency.
  • Assign work schedules and authorize overtime as needed.
  • Complete required documentation and production reporting at the end of each shift.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in operations or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education or experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong networking, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to use MS Office Software and operation software.
  • Previous cement process experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting ability through collaboration with other departments.
