About the position

You will work for the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) as a valued team member of the Education Division. You will serve as a key member of the Youth Development team to continue to build out and implement the WCS Career Lattice- our integrated career pathways and development program for youth, ages 14-24. You will oversee key development projects including our free workshops and event series, key outreach opportunities, and other youth networking events. You will also support youth in their development and advancement from one position to the next by providing individualized case management. You will support youth supervisors in learning and honing best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee recruitment screening efforts for interns and volunteers, including recruitment cycles and DEI candidate screening practices.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and facilitate a diverse suite of annual free events and opportunities for youth volunteers, interns, and part-time seasonal staff.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to youth supervisors on best practices in youth development, DEI, community building, and values making.
  • Oversee and support opportunities for WCS youth to participate in advocacy-focused events including trips to Albany, NY, and Washington DC.
  • Assist in the development and oversight of internships and volunteer opportunities across the organization, particularly in the Education Department.
  • Supervise youth development staff on work related to key projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in youth development or education programs.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse groups of people.
  • Experience in recruitment and screening processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with DEI principles and practices.
  • Experience in event planning and facilitation.
  • Knowledge of conservation and wildlife issues.
