About the position

The Coordinator of Custodial Services & Facilities Use Program is responsible for overseeing the administration, planning, and direction of custodial services and the facilities use program within the Acalanes Union High School District. This role involves ensuring efficient operations, compliance with regulations, and effective communication with various stakeholders. The coordinator will lead custodial staff, manage budgets, and coordinate the use of district facilities for events and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and supervises custodial services and the recycling program for all District facilities.
  • Provides leadership in the District custodial program, including designing and implementing training programs for custodial staff.
  • Reviews and revises custodial work methods and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations.
  • Inspects facilities regularly to ensure proper care and cleaning, and compliance with guidelines.
  • Works with site administrators to prioritize and coordinate custodial staff duties and assignments.
  • Facilitates operations of custodial staff and adjusts work schedules as necessary.
  • Prepares and submits recommendations related to custodial staffing levels and equipment purchases.
  • Communicates with District and site administrators regarding cleaning procedures and supplies.
  • Supervises and evaluates assigned personnel, including swing shift custodians.
  • Coordinates and manages budgets, contracts, activities, events, and personnel for the Facilities Use Program.

Requirements

  • AA degree or equivalent training, education, and experience.
  • Two years of full-time paid experience at the management level of coordinator or above, with at least one year of supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing large teams in a custodial or facilities management context.
  • Knowledge of cost-effective cleaning methods and materials.
