About the position
The Cook position at Community Nursing and Rehabilitation involves preparing and serving nutritious meals while ensuring high standards of sanitation and food safety. Cooks play a vital role in enhancing residents' happiness through their culinary skills and leadership in the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Follows recipes and prepares food that corresponds to menus meeting residents' nutritional needs.
- Cooks or prepares palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in required quantities.
- Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies and equipment.
- Maintains a clean food service work area during food preparation and service.
- Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies, preparing food in accordance with departmental procedures and compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling preferred, unless required by State and Federal agencies.
- Prior Institutional and/or Healthcare service experience preferred.
