About the position

This position will be assigned to Striker's Bowling Center on Holloman AFB, NM. This is a flexible position (0-40 Hours Per Week). Incumbent must be able to work other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Incumbent must be able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lifts or moves objects weighing over 40 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of simple cooking tasks.
• Prepare and cook items that require little or no processing such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers and fresh or canned vegetables.
• Prepare hot cereals, broiled meats; prepare and cook concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies; make cold sandwich fillings.
• Prepare convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets and chicken nuggets.
• Prepare and bake pizza.
• Prepare food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading.
• Weigh, measure and assemble ingredients for regular menu items.
• Set up and replenish salad bar; portion foods for distribution and meal service, and cover, date and store leftovers according to established procedures.
• Wash and clean kitchen equipment.
• Mix ingredients according to written recipes that produce quality products, minimize preparation time, and avoid food material waste.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in and knowledge of methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity.
• Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment, characteristics of various foods, and the ability to season food and decide when foods are done.
• Physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
