About The Position

Focused Post Acute Care Partners (FPACP) is seeking a Cook to join their team at Focused Care at Allenbrook in Baytown, TX. FPACP emphasizes a culture of excellence and has a recognition program called ROCKStar (Recognizing Outstanding Care and Kindness). The Cook will be responsible for preparing all meal items according to the menu, resident preferences, and dietary needs, while ensuring quality and safety standards are met during food production. The position also involves daily cleaning duties, safe equipment usage, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The Cook is expected to promote positive customer service and adhere to workplace behavior and dress code policies.

Requirements

Must have a ROCKSTAR attitude.
Ability to read, write and speak the English language, communicate effectively, and carry out verbal and/or written instructions.
Must have knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic methods.
Food Safety Manager Certification required to be presented within 30 days of hire.
Must be able to follow recipes, use basic math, and lead the team in Director of Food & Nutrition Services absence.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year of cooking experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Experience in a healthcare kitchen setting will be considered.

Responsibilities

Prepare all food items in accordance with the menu, resident preferences, and diets.
Ensure quality and safety policies and procedures are adhered to during production.
Perform daily scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with sanitation, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
Safely utilize equipment and report any equipment needing service or repair immediately.
Maintain all work areas, keeping them clean and safe in accordance with sanitary, safety, and infection control procedures.
Promote positive customer service with residents, family members, guests, and team members.
Use appropriate workplace behavior and adhere to the Department Food & Nutrition Services dress code.
Understand that other duties not listed may be required as needed.
