About the position

The Cook position at the Center for Human Development (CHD) is a vital role within the new Enhanced Medical Group Living Environment (EMGLE) program, set to open in early Fall 2024. This position involves preparing nutritionally balanced meals for residents with complex medical and behavioral needs, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and contributing to a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement menus that meet nutritional requirements.
  • Cook meals for residents three times a day, 365 days a year.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal sanitation and hygiene codes.
  • Maintain a secure and safe kitchen and dining environment.
  • Attend staff meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Graduation from an approved cooking school is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal sanitary and health codes is required.
  • Serve Safe Certification is required or must be obtained within the probationary period.
  • Ability to maintain a safe kitchen environment that meets fire and safety codes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Baking skills preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record Management is a plus.
