About the position
The Cook position at River Landing is a full-time role focused on preparing meals for residents in a Continuing Care Retirement Community. The role emphasizes the importance of service and teamwork, aiming to enrich the lives of residents through exceptional culinary experiences. Cooks are expected to work flexible hours, including weekdays and weekends, and contribute to a positive dining environment.
Responsibilities
- Understand and complete production for a la carte and banquets using standardized recipes.
- Properly set up and stock station-based par sheets.
- Demonstrate high skill and technique in a la minute line production environment.
- Read tickets clearly and produce a consistent product in a high-volume situation.
- Execute any special production as deemed necessary by a supervisor.
Requirements
- High school education.
- Serve Safe certification is a plus.
- Working knowledge of cooking techniques and procedures is mandatory.
- Understanding of proper food storage, temperature holding, and sanitation.
