About the position
This position is responsible for providing high-quality, appealing, and nutritious food to customers through various food service methods, including large and small-scale cooking, baking, and basic food preparation. The role involves general cleaning and stocking of food service areas while adhering to strict infection control guidelines to prevent food contamination. The individual will follow dietary recipes, guidelines, and departmental policies to ensure compliance and quality in food service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of foods in large and small quantities.
- Bake and perform basic food preparation tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas.
- Properly use and care for institutional food service equipment.
- Adhere to infection control guidelines during food handling.
- Follow dietary recipes and departmental policies.
Requirements
- Experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
- Quantity food cooking experience or experience in an institutional food services department is preferred.
- Serve Safe Certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
