About the position
The Cook/Bus Driver position at KinderCare Education involves preparing meals for young children, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role also includes assisting in the classroom if trained, providing a supportive environment for children and staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepare an average of 50-100 meals daily for young children.
- Do dishes and follow health and sanitary requirements.
- Follow allergy restriction lists and warm up meals brought from home by parents.
- Clean, disinfect, and sanitize kitchen and cafeteria; sweep and mop floors in the kitchen, cafeteria, corridor, and lobby.
- Clean the refrigerator and oven daily; perform thorough cleaning of these appliances weekly.
- Bring trash from the kitchen and cafeteria to the outdoor dumpster.
- Complete additional cleaning tasks as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Background screening will be done.
- Must be organized and work fast to manage the 5 services between 11am and 12:30pm.
- Dependable and committed to the job and the school.
- Courteous and gracious with children, parents, and staff.
Nice-to-haves
- Job is from 7AM to 1PM but if inclined, the incumbent will be trained to help in the classroom.
- To assist in the classroom, the incumbent will need to obtain the DCF 45hr. mandated training.
