About The Position

As part of the Corporate Engineering team, the Control Systems Engineer II will participate in project teams to design, purchase, and install equipment. They will assist Plants in troubleshooting and problem solving when called upon, as well as design processes for potential projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a field of study such as electrical, computer systems.
  • Position requires between 5-7 years of engineering experience.
  • Strong Skills in Ladder Logic, preferably with Allen Bradley systems. ie. PLC 5, SLC and Control Logix.
  • Strong Skills in Solidworks Electrical.
  • Strong Skills in HMI design, preferably with FactoryTalk and Ignition.
  • Strong Skills in Ethernet/IP and basic networking best practices.
  • Strong Skills in Coding – Python and Java.
  • Ability to help evaluate project requirements and apply the appropriate solutions.
  • Understanding of plant power distribution equipment and controls.
  • Understanding of project engineering/project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to combine problem-solving techniques with innovation for best solutions.
  • Have the ability to look at the big picture as well as the details. This type of analysis and decision-making is needed daily.

Responsibilities

  • Design and draft elements relating to projects for implementation.
  • Contact manufacturers and vendors for materials required to support proposed design.
  • Receive quotes and delivery schedules on projects.
  • File documentation of engineering drawings.
  • Ensure Company safety procedures are being adhered to.
  • Writing Ladder Logic on new projects and existing equipment.
  • Perform HMI design.
  • Perform basic computer system design – Web Gateway, Virtualization etc.
  • Perform basic network design on new projects and system upgrades.
  • Perform Control Cabinet design.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Provide technical support for facilities worldwide.
  • Participate in maintenance as needed.
