In this role, you will work as part of a multi-discipline team to support complex design, development, maintenance, enhancement, and testing of Material Handling Systems. You will review system requirements and design documentation to define system report and user interface requirements. Collaborating with Electrical & Control Engineering resources, you will ensure electrical hardware and control equipment designs align with system status reporting and interface requirements. You will develop, deploy, and commission human machine interface (HMI) software aligning with system design parameters, create functional test plan documentation to support HMI functionality testing, complete estimates for Controls HMI Engineering level of effort, and provide recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Support complex design, development, maintenance, enhancement, and testing of Material Handling Systems.
  • Review system requirements and design documentation to define system report and user interface requirements.
  • Collaborate with Electrical & Control Engineering resources to ensure electrical hardware and control equipment designs align with system status reporting and interface requirements.
  • Develop, deploy, and commission human machine interface (HMI) software aligning with system design parameters.
  • Create functional test plan documentation to support HMI functionality testing.
  • Complete estimates for Controls HMI Engineering level of effort.
  • Complete recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in software or computer engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of successful experience in a related field and successful demonstration of Knowledge and Responsibilities.
  • Experience with Aveva/Ignition software, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Schneider PLC architecture and networks.
  • Expertise understanding electrical equipment hardware and designs (Motor Control Panels, PLC, servers).
  • Network design experience using Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, ASI Bus, ControlNet, DeviceNet.
  • Experience in HMI programming.
  • Experience with conveyor system HMI systems and reporting software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to document technical decisions with illustrations and clear verbal explanations.

  • Annual base pay range for this role is estimated to be $110,000 - $125,000.
