The company is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer III to join their team.

Requirements

  • BSEE, E.T. or relevant technical degree, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Scheduling and estimating experience required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Engineering and Technology knowledge: practical application of engineering science and technology, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment for design and production of systems and services.
  • English Language knowledge: structure and content of the English language, including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of experience in industrial automation controls design and commissioning (preferred).
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC ControlLogix programming (preferred).
  • AutoCAD experience (preferred).
  • Experience with material handling equipment (preferred).
  • Baggage handling experience is a plus.
  • Experience managing a team of controls engineers is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design the electrical and/or software elements of airport baggage security systems to meet project specifications, schedule, and budget.
  • Write technical specifications.
  • Design control panels.
  • Debug PLC programs.
  • Commission systems.
  • Design electrical/PLC control systems, which may include specifying work for others to produce electrical device and layout drawings, motor control panel drawings, and wiring schematics.
  • Provide installation and technical support of PLC-based hardware and software.
  • Perform control system and software changes; create and modify system specifications and operating procedures.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and repair sensors, scanners, visualization systems, motors, frequency inverters, and encoders.
  • Coordinate controls design with other engineering disciplines and project management.
  • Manage a team of controls engineers and delegate tasks.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning efforts at major airports.
  • Attend design review meetings with the customer.
  • Support proposals and customer inquiries.
  • Estimate new project work.
  • Meet timelines to ensure projects stay on schedule and on budget.
