About the position

The Gas Pipeline Controller at Enterprise Products is responsible for the safe and efficient remote operation of pipelines, tanks, and pumping equipment involved in the transportation of crude oil and other products. This role requires compliance with DOT and other regulatory agencies, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of pipeline operations while maintaining communication with field personnel and customers.

Responsibilities

• Remotely start/stop pumps and/or compressors and operate valves.
• Monitor and control the movement of material through multiple pipelines and/or facilities.
• Analyze changing conditions and alarms and make necessary adjustments.
• Determine accurate time of pipeline events by reviewing batch listings and schedules.
• Quickly detect abnormal operations and react accordingly in a short period of time.
• Monitor pipeline integrity and coordinate pipeline maintenance.
• Monitor tank and cavern storage levels.
• Maintain communication with field personnel, customers, and suppliers to maximize efficiency, safety, quality, and customer service.

Requirements

• Minimum of 60 college credit hours with oil and gas field operations/plant experience or relevant military experience as a pipeline controller.
• Associates Degree is strongly preferred.
• 2-3 years of Chemical or Oil and Gas industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills including the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements including background checks and drug screening.
• Good communication abilities (verbal and written).
• Accountable and self-driven to learn and improve skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the oil and gas or chemical industry as a board operator.
• Familiarity with mechanical and technical equipment or systems.
