About the position
The Controller for a nonprofit organization in Boston will oversee the financial operations of a smaller yet impactful organization. This role involves both hands-on management and strategic oversight, working closely with the board and leadership team. Responsibilities
- Oversight of operational accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Maintain the general ledger.
- Recognize revenue accurately.
- Prepare financial reports and provide analysis for the board and leadership team.
- Ownership of the month-end close process.
- Establish and maintain internal controls.
- Manage the annual audit.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- 2+ years of management experience.
- Experience within nonprofit organizations preferred.
- MBA and/or CPA preferred.
