About the position

The Senior Staff Contracts Management position at Lockheed Martin involves leading proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and administration within the National Security Space Line of Business. The role requires establishing strong customer relationships and implementing business strategies for contract growth while advising leadership on contractual rights and risks. This position is critical in supporting dynamic and nationally significant programs, contributing to the company's mission of innovation in space technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and contract administration activities.
  • Establish and maintain excellent internal and external customer relationships.
  • Implement business strategies for on-contract growth and provide creative solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Advise Contracts and Program leadership of contractual rights, obligations, and risks.
  • Lead cross-functional Lockheed Martin teams to negotiate contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education with 13+ years of professional experience or 10+ years with a Master's degree.
  • US Citizenship required, candidate must hold TS clearance and successfully pass a drug and background check.
  • Experience in strategy development for new captures.
  • Experience negotiating and managing complex development and production contracts.
  • Knowledge and documented application of acquisition regulations (FAR, DFAR).
  • Experience with Other Transactional Authority (OTA) agreements.
  • Ability to work independently under very limited supervision.
  • Extremely strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven experience in contract management, preferably in the defense or aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Commercial -Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) are a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment and work well under pressure.
  • Possess effective relationship-building skills with peers, leadership, and suppliers.
  • Bring positivity and enthusiasm to every project you touch.
  • Ability to develop trusted partnerships with internal and external customers.
