About the position

The Contracting Counsel Manager at Accenture plays a crucial role in coordinating and delivering legal, contract, and commercial counsel to support the company's business operations. This position involves leading the negotiation and structuring of complex client transactions, advising senior leadership on legal risks, and managing junior legal professionals. The role requires a deep understanding of legal and commercial risks associated with various transactions, as well as the ability to stay updated on industry developments to inform the company's practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, structure, draft, and negotiate complex client transactions including master services agreements, outsourcing agreements, and licensing agreements.
  • Advise senior company leadership on legal risks associated with transactions and market understanding.
  • Manage and advise junior legal professionals in transactions and related matters.
  • Continuously evolve as a knowledgeable advisor on legal and commercial risks.
  • Counsel, guide, train, and support junior Contracting Legal Professionals (CLPs).
  • Develop subject matter expertise in areas that benefit Legal and/or the business.
  • Participate in developing internal guidelines and toolkits on legal and business issues.
  • Support and implement Legal Group initiatives.

Requirements

  • JD (or equivalent) and authorized to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 6 years of transactional experience in digital, consulting, systems integration, or outsourcing.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience negotiating Intellectual Property and Data Privacy issues.
  • Accomplished negotiator with understanding of principle-based negotiation strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage a large volume of transactions independently.
  • Experience negotiating and drafting technology-based agreements.
  • Strong executive presence and understanding of contracting/risk issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in conducting and supervising investigations.
  • In-depth knowledge of local ethical/conduct/compliance-related risks.
  • Extensive experience in employee relations and workplace investigations.
