About the position
The Consumer Finance Examiner 4 - Mortgage Specialist role is focused on ensuring compliance with Ohio laws for non-depository financial institutions, particularly in the mortgage sector. This position involves examining complex financial records, leading examination projects, and providing training to junior examiners. The role is critical in protecting consumers and maintaining the integrity of financial practices in Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Examine the books, records, and documents of complex non-depository financial institutions for compliance with Ohio laws.
- Calculate financial computations and review computer programs to ensure borrowers are not overcharged during examinations.
- Serve as team leader or examiner-in-charge for large examination projects, including multi-state and coordinated examinations.
- Complete examination forms identifying compliance issues and violations, and prepare draft reports of examination.
- Review and analyze the company's response to examination reports.
- Provide training to lower-level examiners.
Requirements
- 6 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, or finance; valid driver's license required.
- Completion of an undergraduate core program in accounting, finance, or a related field, plus 4 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, or finance; valid driver's license required.
- 12 months of experience as Consumer Finance Examiner 3 in examination type as stated in the approved Position Description; valid driver's license required.
