About the position

The Consumer/Family Program Specialist is a part-time role focused on developing new programs and projects that align with the mission of the Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI). This position involves accessing funding to support these initiatives and requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, trainees, and the Consumer Advisory Board. The role is hybrid, allowing for both on-site and off-site work, and is specifically open to UNMC employees.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new programs and projects that promote the mission of MMI.
  • Access funding to support program activities.
  • Report directly to the Director of the UCEDD.
  • Interact with all UCEDD and MMI faculty, staff, trainees, and members of the Consumer Advisory Board.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a disability-related field.
  • 3 years of experience in advocacy, self-advocacy, or program management related to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to work with the disability advocacy community.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Human Services or a disability-related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in grant writing and securing extramural funding.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $59,700 - $95,500 annually.
  • Hybrid work schedule (part-time on-site and part-time off-site).
  • Flexible working hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; hours may vary).
