About the position

Morton Buildings, Inc. is seeking dedicated Construction Workers - Carpenters to join our expanding construction crews. As a leader in post-frame construction with over 120 years of experience, we offer a dynamic work environment where employees can grow and thrive. This role involves hands-on construction tasks under the guidance of a crew foreman, ensuring adherence to safety and construction standards while working collaboratively with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply Morton Buildings' safety and construction procedures, methods, and standards.
  • Read and understand construction plans to execute building tasks.
  • Utilize various tools and equipment for efficient construction.
  • Perform tasks such as digging and installing footings, framing walls and roofs, and installing windows and doors.
  • Install various siding and roofing materials, including hi-rib steel and shingles.
  • Finish projects with metal and wood trims while maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Preferred experience in building construction (post-frame), carpentry, or framing (on the job or in school).
  • Willingness to participate in and complete a training program.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred.
  • Ability to work 9-10 hours during peak construction season.
  • Ability to take direction and produce quality work efficiently.
  • Compliance with safety processes and procedures.
  • Willingness to maintain and operate construction tools safely.
  • Ability to operate specialized safety equipment effectively.
  • Standard weight lifting requirements of 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Capability to work in a physically demanding environment and at heights up to 40 feet.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in post-frame construction or carpentry is a plus.
