About the position

The Residential Shell Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential shell construction projects, including foundations, framing, and exterior finishes. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, architects, and project managers.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to prepare accurate and detailed shell construction cost estimates.
• Evaluate material, labor, and equipment requirements to create competitive bids.
• Obtain and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
• Work closely with the project management team to ensure estimates align with project timelines and budgets.
• Identify potential risks and provide recommendations to mitigate cost overruns or delays.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to refine estimates and address any questions or concerns.
• Maintain detailed records of all estimates, revisions, and supporting data for future reference.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a construction estimator, preferably in residential shell construction.
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar tools) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• In-depth understanding of residential construction processes, materials, and labor costs.
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail for precise cost estimation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
