About The Position

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee the design and construction of smaller renovation projects and potentially manage larger, multi-million dollar projects as the Owner's Agent. This role is crucial for ensuring projects are built according to contract specifications and within budgetary goals. Requirements

  • Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) of work experience in construction management, building project management or a closely related field.
  • OR college coursework in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a closely related discipline, with an Associate Degree (60 semester hours) counting as one (1) year (12 months), 90-semester hours counting as two (2) years (24 months), and a Bachelor’s Degree or higher (120 semester hours) counting as three (3) years (36 months).
  • Three (3) years (36 months) of building construction management and/or building project management experience comparable to the lower level of this series.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of experience
  • Licensed Architect
  • Master of Architecture degree
  • WELL Building accreditation (or interest in acquiring such)
  • LEED AP Accreditation (or interest in acquiring such)
  • Proficiency in Revit and BIM modeling
  • Proficiency in Sketchup Modeling
  • Proficiency in, or willingness to train in the use of carbon counting software
  • Generalist in experience across the aspects of the practices of architecture and construction
  • Experience with the renovation and maintenance of institutional buildings.
  • Experience with interior space planning, renovation, and design.
  • Experience with the design and construction process in the execution of new multi-million dollar projects.
  • Desirable experience in managing A/E consultants
  • Thorough understanding of Building and Life Safety Codes including ADA requirements.
  • Proficiency in computer aided design, Excel, Project Management Software, Word

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the design and construction of smaller renovation projects at SIUE.
  • May manage larger, multi-million dollar projects executed by A/E Consultants under contract, acting as the Owner's Agent.
  • Ensures construction projects are built per contract drawings and specifications.
  • Maintains cost control to ensure budgetary goals are met.
