About the position
The Construction Helper at JF Petroleum Group plays a vital role in supporting construction activities within the fueling infrastructure industry. This position involves performing various physical tasks on construction sites, assisting skilled workers, and ensuring safety and organization on the job site. The role requires adaptability to different weather conditions and the ability to work long hours, including after-hours when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assist construction craft workers or electricians on-site.
- Spot and direct heavy equipment operators during excavation operations.
- Operate small equipment, such as skid steer loaders.
- Cut and thread steel pipe and assist in the fitting and installation of tanks.
- Assist the foreman with shooting grades and documentation.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site as directed by the foreman.
- Ensure all safety signs and barricades are in place.
- Comply with all safety requirements and use proper personal protective equipment.
- Account for, clean, and organize tools on the job site.
- Keep job inventory accurate.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read blueprints and take measurements.
- Basic understanding of math and mechanical skills.
- Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
