About the position

The position at Tetra Tech involves providing technical support within the Construction Services team, focusing on construction management and project control. The role requires collaboration with subcontractors and construction managers to ensure effective project execution, documentation, and cost monitoring. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in construction engineering techniques to address complex challenges and promote teamwork across project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex construction assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard construction engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Recommend corrective action and follow up on recommendations.
  • Conduct project field coordination, documentation, cost monitoring, bidding and scheduling.
  • Work within web-based document collaboration software to manage documents.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFI) and Change Orders.
  • Develop and manage project schedules using the Critical Path Method (CPM).
  • Produce project cost and progress reports for Project Manager and Client.
  • Support the Project Control and Estimating personnel assigned to the project.
  • Support the development and maintenance of forecasts for cost and scheduling.
  • Promote communication and teamwork within groups and projects.
  • Develop, schedule and lead project teams on document control items such as submittals, RFIs and Change Orders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent construction project control planning and scheduling experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • Ability to read and understand contract documents including drawings and specifications.
  • Self-starter with experience working with subcontracts and coordinating with subcontractors.
  • Excellent organizational, team management, problem solving, and motivational skills.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining schedules with CPM methodology in MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Excel and MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate level experience with scheduling software (Primavera 6) is a plus.
