About the position

As an Account Manager at Horton, a Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), you will be part of a team that delivers business insurance, employee health & benefits, retirement, and private client insurance solutions. Your role will involve executing client service strategies, managing proposals, building client relationships, analyzing risks, and overseeing the accuracy of information in client portals. You will also engage in market strategy and negotiation, manage data processes, and maintain peer relationships to ensure a cohesive client service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Producer and/or Account Executives, service team, and other internal departments to plan, execute, and track customized service strategy for each client.
  • Manages creation of proposals, providing summary of programs and options, service plan, and other specific deliverables designed to support clients.
  • Builds personalized client relationships through demonstrated ownership of the service plan and multiple channels of communication.
  • Analyzes risk, coverage, program structure and recommends options; executes coverage and program changes.
  • Oversees the accuracy and display of information in client portals.
  • Leverages insurance knowledge and communication skills to explain coverage terms and program options to clients.
  • Works with internal departments to ensure cohesiveness and timeliness of service execution.
  • Takes an enterprise-wide approach to client service by collaborating with other service teams.
  • Manages time effectively to prioritize workload and client service requests.
  • Creates submission for underwriters and communicates with them on submissions.
  • Evaluates coverage, terms, and conditions of quotes received from underwriters.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with insurance carriers.
  • Consistently follows client service workflows and engages internal resources.
  • Accurately maintains complete client files in agency management systems.
  • Participates in ongoing scheduled meetings with service team.
  • Trains, guides, and mentors Client Service Representatives and other peers.

Requirements

  • Producers License for Fire/Casualty or Life/Health, as appropriate for role.
  • Available to travel to both local and long-distance client meetings.
  • Has means of transportation for local travel as needed.
  • 2+ years Account Manager experience within an insurance brokerage, or comparable experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPCU, ARM, CEBS, or other professional insurance designation related to discipline.
  • Experience working with agency management systems.
  • Proficient skill level in Microsoft Office Suite.
