About the position

Northedge, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accounting Specialist to join their team. This role is essential for monitoring and maintaining cost accounting for commercial drywall projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain cost accounting for commercial drywall projects, including tracking expenses, reviewing invoices, and reconciling accounts.
• Process contract-required AIA billing, ensuring compliance with project specifications and deadlines, including processing waivers and generating sales tax reports as needed.
• Collaborate closely with the accounting department and project managers to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and documentation.
• Work with project managers to ensure purchase orders are fulfilled, received, and costs associated with projects are allocated properly.
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 3+ years of experience in construction accounting, preferably in commercial projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices, including AIA billing and sales tax reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of purchase order processes and cost allocation methodologies.
