Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 3 years of accounting experience

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation, an asset
  • Working knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, an asset

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the provision of corporate insolvency services, identifying a company's strategic, operational, and financial issues, recommending immediate stabilization measures, providing advice for operational and performance improvement, and meeting debt restructuring, refinancing, or recovery needs.
  • Contribute to data analysis, accounting record review, and financial model development.
  • Contribute to the implementation of formal and informal restructurings and administer official insolvency mandates (bankruptcies, creditor proposals, receiverships, CCAA arrangements, liquidations, etc.).
  • Build relationships with special lenders, insolvency lawyers, business leaders, etc.
  • Contribute to the preparation and review of all documents required by the BIA, CCAA, Winding-up Acts, Business Corporations Acts, etc.
  • Contribute to finding innovative ways to add value for stakeholders; ensure their needs are met.
  • Participate in business development initiatives, and contribute to the preparation and submission of competitive service proposals.
  • Collaborate with the engagement team.
  • Participate in the development of new ideas and methods to improve work procedures.
  • Be willing to travel, as needed.
